A microcosm of London's shifting ethnic patterns, the area around Brick Lane in East London was once associated with poor slums and the scene of the crime for the Jack the Ripper murders. Whilst the notorious pub Ten Bells still stands, the area itself is now extremely popular with London’s edgy and artistic crowd, featuring galleries, restaurants, markets and festivals throughout the year.
The Old Truman Brewery at 91 Brick Lane houses a vibrant market where up-and-coming designers set up shop every Sunday selling a unique variety of clothes, handbags and jewellery. There are also vintage clothing stores and chic boutiques dotted around the area.
As a hub of London's Bangladeshi community, Brick Lane has always been famed for its many authentic curry restaurants. It now also has a reputation for its warehouse art exhibitions and trendy clubs and bars. So, before your East London experience is complete, be sure to head to the Vibe Bars beer garden or 93 Feet East (150 Brick Lane) which has become an East End institution well known for its eclectic mix of live music and intimate atmosphere.

We are a family with two teenagers that visited the London for five days. The apartment fulfilled our needs and we were quite satisfied considering the price. The fold-out sofa was large and adequate for our two daughters. The knob to adjust the water temperature of the shower was lose but when it was removed it was possible to adjust the temperature by hand. We set it once and waited a minute before showering to let the temperature stabilize. We appreciated especially the free and working Wifi access. The TV didn´t work due to a too weak antenna signal but the Wifi access compensated that since we could see programs online. The apartment is, as other visitors have noticed, a bit humid and the owner has installed two dehumidifiers that improved the situation. There was construction work going on in the neigbouring apartment that disturbed us in the mornings but I guess it was temporary. All in all a decent place considering the price.

Rooms were very small. The closest undergroundstation was rather near (about 1 km) so it was easy to get to center on London. Little foodmarket was near apartment (about 0,5 km).Breakfast included tea, coffee and cereals.

A very good location in Central London close to two underground station and bus to Tottenham Court Road. The place is not bad, but there are in fact a couple of details that show lack of maintenance and carelessness. It's a pity as all the details are cheap and easy to fix, considering the pros that the place can offer. We contacted owner to get them fixed, but we got no answer. The bath screen was partially missing and there was no curtain to avoid water coming out from the shower, the knob to adjust the water temperature of the shower was lose but when it was removed it was possible to adjust the temperature by hand. No screens / curtains in the kitchen and bath for privacy with workers just 5 meters away. Broken leg of the dining table and dirty, badly kept entrance and front and back yards. We appreciated the kitchen, the room with a confortable bed and the free and working Wifi access. I'd have no doubt to recommend it to my own friends, but once details fixed up. Thanks.

Good respond and information from Kaz before the trip. But did not met him during the stay. It had been nice to meet the host during the stay.
