With a holiday home in Islington like the Londoners live
The chic district of Islington is located in the north of London and has developed into a very popular residential area in recent years. Especially the wealthy middle class, the rich and beautiful and even some celebrities have settled here. Since the 80s, the former poor working-class district has gained in attractiveness mainly due to its Gregorian squares and Victorian houses. With a private holiday home in Islington, you can also let the unique charm of the district work its magic on you and feel like a local rather than a tourist. Maybe you’ll get to see one or the other VIP.
Strolling from your accommodation through the charming streets of Islington
From your private holiday home in Islington, you can take long walks and exceptional shopping trips. In the hidden Camden Passage you’ll find antique and junk shops, art supplies, vintage shops, graphics, photographs and art prints. Especially around the Underground Station Angel and Upper Street there are many small restaurants, pubs and art galleries. There is also the Old Red Lion Theatre directly above a pub. Smaller, independent productions are performed here. There are also various clubs in the immediate vicinity, including the famous Double Club, where Western and Congolese lifestyles merge. For the gourmets among you, the further you go towards Highbury and Islington, the cheaper the restaurants will be – but the quality will not diminish. A look into the side streets is also worthwhile, as some of the best restaurants and pubs are located here. By the way, the area of today’s Islington was originally called “Giseldone”, which means “the dune of Gisla”. After the 18th century, the district was first established as today’s Islington.
Rent a private holiday home in Islington or elsewhere

Overall, a very good experience and I would definitely rent it again. Very clean, nice space, quiet location and tons of character.
Dryer didn't work well, which was a bit frustrating. Due to heatwave, a fan would have been a welcomed addition. While we didn't have small children, there was no barrier on the front "door" by the main kitchen and living area on the loft. Perhaps adding a few additional horizontal bars could be an inexpensive option to add some safety while still maintaining the aesthetic of the flat. A 3 story drop wouldn't be good for a child, or anyone. Finally, I expected the eclectic decor, which was generally cool. I'd suggest a bit less taxidermy, and the crucifix with skull and cross bones was a bit offensive.

The location was good as it was close to the Underground and within walking distance of Highgate, where there are nice pubs and restaurants, though we didn't find any nice places to eat in the immediate vicinity of the flat. It was handy that entry to the flat was by a code that the owner supplied so we didn't have to bother with being there at a certain time to get keys. Nice bathroom, comfy bed, generally clean (except for down the back of the sofa bed!). When the sofa bed is pulled out there is very little remaining floorspace so if you are staying here with more than 2 people that's something to consider.

We found everything, what we hoped to find. The flat really is nearby the underground. And when you come "home" from the city, you find a wonderful quiet place to rest. We always sleep with opened window - the only thing we heard, was the birds singing in the morning - in a town like London... Thank you, Ruth! When we plan our next visit to London, we will ask you for your rooms again.

Nicely located in the vicinity of the underground. Ample restaurants, shops, supermarkets nearby. Two steep stairways makes it less suitable for elderly people. Perfect pied-à-terre for London adventures!
