A small room perfect for one person for a weekend or mid-week escape in Amsterdam! Longer stays possible.
-Own (very small) room
-Use of kitchen, living room, shower/bathroom, laundry, etc.
-Friendly and outgoing family
-FREE BIKE to explore the city
-Free tour of night life in the weekend
You will stay in a small (one person only) colorful room in a relaxed apartment within 10 minutes of Central Station Amsterdam.
You will share a living room, bathroom and kitchen with others. There is a big aquarium and lots of plants in the living room.
The apartment is not 5-star quality (not always super neat and tidy but we try our best), but colorful, friendly, hippie-ish, and cute, located in a beautiful 19th century house within short walking distance to cafes, restaurants, coffee-shop, supermarkets, and tram and bus stops.
We normally rent apartment out when we (a family with three children) are on holiday. The house is family-friendly, but any types of tourists (as long as you don't smoke inside!) are welcome! Our room-mate (musician) will open the door when we are not there.
When we are in, we will be glad to show tourists around so that they can enjoy not only family breakfasts but going-out scene in Amsterdam!
To reach the place, take a train to Central Station Amsterdam, walk from the back of Central Station (15 to 20 minutes) or take bus 48 (one stop in the direction Sloterdijk station)

The room is small but clean. As Helen Said , is not a hotel. The location is good to explore the center. However, I think the room can be improved by removing some of the stuff to create a space .If you evaluate the place on the base of the host , is underpriced but if you evaluate the room based on its space and its facilities ,
Season, and weekdays, it's overpriced. I spent the last two days in a three star hotel with the two third of the price.

Helen's flat is in a quiet residential neighborhood with convenient bus and tram lines taking about 10 mins to reach Centraal Station. There is a bakery close by and a corner store at the end of the street. The flat is cozy with lots of signs of creative people present: music posters and painting on the walls and a photography dark room next to the bathroom.

Helen and her family were great hosts . She was very responsive via email and I had a very interesting conversation. She and her husband have suggested places to visit and even showed me around.

Helen is an excellent host. She has a charming family and they makes you feel like if you were a relative who comes for a visit. And besides, she had a lot of patience with my poor english ;)

Helen and her family was on holiday when I visited. Despite my last-minute booking, she was flexible and generous at every step and responded quickly to all of my questions. In her absence, Helen introduced me to her next-door neighbor who was extremely kind and helpful. It was a pleasure dealing with Helen and she will ensure you are well looked after even if she is away during your visit. Thanks Helen!
