The residential district of Corviale is actually a huge housing project that grew up on the outskirts of Rome in the 1970s. It has the dubious honour of being the home of Europe’s longest residential building: a row of apartments that measures nearly one kilometre in length. The building itself is well worth a visit; indeed, it attracts many of the world’s town planners and urban architects. This area of Rome delivers affordable accommodation within a few minutes’ drive of the city center, and that is why it is a popular destination with travellers looking for comfortable accommodation in the area. Renting a nearby holiday apartment in San Pietro from 9flats.com will give you access to all the creature comforts you left at home.
Vacation Rentals in Corviale Immerse You in Local Life
The huge housing project built in Corviale was something of an experiment when it first hit the drawing board in the 1960s. The vision was for a single residential building that included everything required for daily life. Schools, shops, doctor’s surgeries, entertainment facilities and self-contained apartments were to be housed under a single roof. However, the project was blighted with problems from the outset, and much of it remains unfinished. Nevertheless, the area is a fascinating example of how Western countries approached social housing after World War 2. The unique atmosphere and sense of community that exists in this area is best experienced by staying in the local neighbourhood, and renting an apartment in Rome allows you to do just that.
Accommodation in Corviale Provides Luxury and Seclusion in Plentiful Supply
Although Corviale is predominantly a residential area, the Tenuta dei Massimi Nature Reserve is only a short walk away. The area is mainly used for crops, but it also contains a small wooded area. Visitors can see a wide range of fauna in natural surroundings, including a variety of rodents, the black kite and the majestic kestrel. The nearby Somaini Forest also provides ample opportunity to walk, explore and relax. A stay in and around Rome can be a tiring experience, but renting vacation rentals in Campo Marzio will provide you with a well-appointed and private residence in which to relax. Far-removed from the tourist throngs of Rome, your very own private holiday home will also give you a new perspective on local customs and traditions.
The 9flats.com website is a great alternative to couchsurfing in Corviale. Although strikingly similar, 9flats.com gives you the added option of having a luxury residence all to yourself!

9 flats is a great agencyeyal reviewed Big & confortable apart at St Peter in San Pietro
Nicola's big apartment next to Vatican is a nice, modern 4-star level quality experience...the three bedrooms are large, with tall ceilings, and nicely furnished. Mattresses superb! Each room was enjoyable in itself and the rooms are laid out to be enjoyed during the day as well as at night...so, we didn't miss the absence of a dedicated living room. The kitchen worked well, too, with an induction-style stove top.Martin reviewed Big apartment in front St. Peter in San Pietro
The location is ideal if St Peter and Vatican Museum are part of your Rome itinerary. With a 1st floor (European)/2nd story (U.S.), the access to the street level is quick while yet being private enough.
The location is walkable to Trastevere neighborhood and the neighborhood of Pantheon. The Colosseum is an easy metro ride away.
Grocery shopping is available within four walking blocks. Coffee and pastry bars, restaurants and gelato shops are all directly on the square which the apartment is on. Brand name (Italian, not international) clothes shopping is down the street.
