Apartments in Neukölln: steeped in history and hip at the same time
With a holiday apartment in Berlin-Neukölln you live in a district that has a varied history behind it: Neukölln was originally founded around 1200 by the Knights Templar as “Rixdorf” and transferred to the Order of St John in 1318. Another two hundred years later the village was mentioned as “Ricksdorf”, and in January 1912 Emperor Wilhelm II ordered its renaming to Neukölln. Eight years later the incorporation to Greater Berlin took place and since 2001 Neukölln is an independent Berlin district with many sights, e.g. the Körnerpark or the Lessinghöhe, both of which can be reached comfortably from your apartment in Berlin-Neukölln. The Körnerpark was designed in the style of a castle park and offers with the Orangerie a beautiful opportunity for exclusive art exhibitions. The Lessinghöhe was created as a hill of rubble and is today a beautiful green area with a width of 140 metres and a length of 210 metres where you can relax in summer, play Frisbee or meet up with friends. Thus, an apartment in Neukölln does not only give the possibility to explore a lot of sightseeings, but also to take some time out and leave the everyday thoughts behind.
Accommodation in Berlin-Neukölln: Culture and shopping within reach
Shopping centres can also be reached from your private holiday home in Neukölln: e.g. the Neucölln-Carree or the Neukölln-Arkaden. The Carree is in the Sonnenallee/corner Grenzallee and the arcades are in the Karl-Marx-Straße. The Gropius passages on Johannisthaler Chaussee are certainly also interesting. Since an impressive network of artists has developed in Neukölln in recent years, you will find numerous studios and galleries here, as well as the Werkstatt der Kulturen, an event centre where events such as the Black History Month or the concert series World Wide Music take place. In the meantime, the workshop has become world-famous through the organization of the Carnival of Cultures, which has been celebrated in Kreuzberg every year around Whitsun since 1996. Nice apartment / room, clean and all the basic stuff you need. Although it could be cleaner in the kitchen but I understand that depends on the people sharing it. But can't complain, with the great prices!Mariana reviewed Gästezimmer 1.4 Neukölln in Neukölln
Good location, multicultural neighborhood, nearby public transport, supermarket and shopping center.
