Enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches of northern Spain in the province of Cantabria. Book an apartment with us in Santander and enjoy a walk on the promenade Reina Victoria with its stately houses and the many boats in the sea. Or as a user of a private accommodation in Santander you can have a coffee in one of the many bars and restaurants at the harbour ‘Puerto Chico’. Santander has about 200.000 inhabitants. The old town was almost completely destroyed by a fire in 1941, but still offers the tenants of an apartment in Santander sights worth seeing and relaxing. The city can be reached by car or train. The airport is Santander Airport, which is located five kilometres southwest of the harbour. Santander and your private holiday home in Santander are located on a bay within the Bay of Biscay: a boat tour will take you around the peninsula of La Magdalena as a tenant of an apartment in El Sardinero. La Magdalena is a 25 hectare park with a royal family castle that now serves as a summer university. From Magdalena Castle you have a great view over the city.
An apartment in Santander promises elegant tranquillity
The quiet and elegant atmosphere can also be felt in the old town. Here you can visit the reconstructed cathedral, where the bones of Saint Emeterius and Celedonis, the two city saints, are located. The churches of Christ and Compañía are also located here. There is always a lot going on on the town hall square. From here it is not far to the city museum of fine arts and the Menéndez-Pelayo museum. If you prefer to live outside, you can also rent a holiday apartment in Santa Cruz de Bezana. Even if you are a tenant of the neighbouring town, only 10 kilometres away, you will discover the stately facades of the many banks on a tour of the old town of Santander. Via Hernán-Cortés Street you come to the lively Porticada Square. It developed into the centre of the old town, which had previously been destroyed by fire. If you want to get to know the joie de vivre of the Satandins, it is worth a visit to the Mercado de la Esperanza, where you can buy the freshest fish. You can prepare squid, mussels and snails better here than in Santander, where you can do couchsurfing. They are simply delicious and taste much fresher than if you prepare them in a holiday apartment in Madrid or in an apartment in Aix-en-Provence.
A private accommodation in Santander offers wonderful places
At the lighthouse Cabo Mayor you will find the golf course Mataleñas. From here you have a wonderful view of the coast. There are also schools for surfers and riders in the city. From the marina you can get to the planetarium and the festival site on foot or by bike. Observers love the Maritime Museum to understand the connection between the city and the sea. Behind the museum start the two beaches Los Peligros and La Magdalena, which invite you to swim. Other beaches are Los Bikinis, El Camello, La Concha and El Sardinero. If you continue along the promenade, you’ll come to the Piquio Garden, with its particularly popular places for romantics, and you can walk to the end of Mesones Park. Santander offers you a lot of variety. Strolling, lying on the beach, shopping, eating, visiting the wild nature park with sea view at the Avenida del Faro – two weeks are not enough. You can also take various boat trips to get to know the bay and coast or watch the fascinating sunset from the Plaza de Italia. Book an apartment with us in Santander so you don’t miss this great city and the bay of Cantabria.

Very nice location in the center of Santander. Clean and very good equipped room.Andre reviewed Beautiful room in the centre in Sardinero
Incredibly clean! It was nice to have a bathroom just for ourselves and while the room was small for two, it wasn`t a problem as there are so many cafes and bars in the area, we never got home before 12 midnight anyway. It is just a ten minute walk from the main bus and train stations - go through the tunnel, NOT over the hill- and you can get one of the Paris-style bikes for 1.70 euro on the promenade in the middle to the main street at the end of the alley. You can ride to the beach in just 30 minutes. It rained pretty much for the whole week we were there in July but Carmen always offered us a weather report and there was plenty to do in the town and trips to nearby, lovely villages.Deirdre reviewed COMO EN CASA (Habitación+Desayuno) in Nueva Montaña
