North Rhine-Westphalia lies in the west of the Federal Republic of Germany and borders on the Netherlands and Belgium. The best known conurbation is the Ruhr area with cities such as Essen, Bochum and Dortmund. Apartments in North Rhine-Westphalia are therefore ideal both for discovering the vibrant Ruhr Valley and for spending time on the left bank of the Lower Rhine, which is known for its expansive landscapes. There is a lot going on culturally in North Rhine-Westphalia, as the state constitution stipulates that art and culture must be promoted in NRW. Thus cultural and artistic projects are supported at state and partly federal level.
