Historic 3-bed 2-bath near downtown

Apartment, Entire place - Boston, United States

ID 95633

Description

This is the perfect apartment for families, traveling colleagues, and groups of friends! If you're looking for charm, comfort, and privacy during your trip to Boston, our apartment may be just what you need. Housed in a historic converted schoolhouse in Boston's beautiful Charlestown neighborhood, the property is easily accessible by public transportation (bus and subway) to connect you to downtown Boston, Cambridge, and nearby neighborhoods in just minutes. Walk 10 minutes to Community College on the orange line, and you'll be downtown at North Station in just one stop!

Our apartment includes the second and third floors of the old schoolhouse (a separate entrance leads to the first-floor apartment). There are a total of three bedrooms and two bathrooms, plus a living room, kitchen, and sun room. If you're visiting in the summer, enjoy a drink on the roof deck and take in the skyline views! You will have free range of the common areas and are welcome to use the cooking supplies in the kitchen, store food in the fridge, and utilize the wireless internet. There's also a nice little restaurant across the street, The Grasshopper Cafe, if you want to sample the local brunch (voted #1 breakfast in the area!).

All three bedrooms are fully furnished. The master suite includes a queen-sized bed, nightstand, a dresser, beautiful freestanding mirror, and a large mirror-door closet to store suitcases and clothes. A private bathroom with jacuzzi tub adjoins the bedroom, and is fully stocked with fresh towels and amenities. A washer and dryer are available for your use inside the master bathroom - great for longer-term stays. The living room and kitchen are on the same level as the master suite, and the other two bedrooms, sunroom, bathroom, and roof access are on the upper level. Wireless internet is available throughout the apartment. There are no pets in residence, and no smoking is permitted indoors.

About the neighborhood: Charlestown is a Boston neighborhood directly north of downtown, boasting some of the city's oldest and most beautiful homes. Many historical points of interest draw tourists to the area, including colonial and brownstone architecture, the Bunker Hill Monument, St. Mary's Church, and the northern loop of the Freedom Trail. Paul Revere began his famed midnight ride from Charlestown, and you can still grab a bite at the Warren Tavern, which has been in operation since 1780 and was said to be one of Revere's favorite watering holes. The U.S.S. Constitution ("Old Ironsides"), America's oldest commissioned Navy vessel, is also docked in the Charlestown Navy Yard and offers free guided tours aboard the ship. A ten-minute bus or subway ride takes you straight to the North End (Boston's Little Italy) and all the attractions of downtown - or hang a left into Cambridge and visit MIT, Harvard, and the "squares" (Kendall, Central, Porter, and Davis). There's no end of things to do, and the vast majority of it is within walking distance or an easy jaunt on public transportation.
