The icing on the cake is the large roof top terrace, complete with wet bar, Jacuzzi tub, lounge chairs, and an amazing 360 view of the Caribbean on one side and the Mayan jungle on the other.
The home is located a short 2 minute walk from world famous Akumal Bay where magnificent sea turtles come to feed and nest. This stretch of beach retains its natural beauty, away from the big crowds of the major resorts. Although, the Gran Bahia Principe resorts, world class golfing, and the TAO Wellness Center & Spa are all next door and just a 5 minute drive.

Only 100 yards from the front door you'll find your access to beautiful Akumal Bay. It's not uncommon to swim along side sea turtles on this beach. A short stroll down the beach in either direction are a couple of beach resorts with restaurants where you can eat out if no one feels like cooking. Look around during the 15 minute walk north along the beach to the beautiful beach town of Akumal, and feel that you are in paradise.

The Riviera Maya is one of the world's top destinations for scuba diving and snorkeling. The expansive Mesoamerican Reef is just off the coast and is home to a dizzying array of marine life including colorful tropical fish, sea turtles, manta rays, dolphins and whale sharks. You can also go snorkeling and cave diving in the many cenotes (underground sink holes) that are unique to this Yucatan Peninsula. Great snorkeling and diving are very close by and many guided excursions are readily available and reasonably priced. Other water sporting activities include boating, fishing, deep sea fishing, parasailing, and catamaran tours to name a few.
The area offers several eco-archaeological adventure parks where you can take a journey of discovery into some of the most breathtaking natural wonders in Mexico. Xcaret, Xplor, and Xel Ha are 3 of the higher rated and most popular adventure theme parks, and are all within easy driving distance. Here you can explore mystical caves, learn about the Mayan culture, take in entertaining shows, and more for the price of a single admission. Distances to Xcaret & Xplor (32 km north); Xel-Ha (12 km north). For all the magical splendor of the caves, cenotes, and underground rivers in a more natural setting, visit the Aktun Chen National Park (10 km south west). No trip to the Riviera Maya is complete without a visit to any of the ancient Mayan cities scattered throughout the Yucatan jungle. The awe inspiring Mayan ruins provide a deeper understanding of the rich Mexican history and culture. The coastline ruins of Tulum are one of the more significant cities in Mayan history and are the closest (22 km south). Still within easy reach are the inland ruins of Coba (70 km west) with many more structures to explore. Chichan Itza, the ultimate Mayan ruins are 175 km or 2.5 hrs by car or tour bus.
Beaches! This area is embarrassingly rich in prototypical Caribbean paradise beaches. Our direct access to the ocean is no exception and retains respect for the natural beauty of the environment. “Place of the turtles" in the Mayan language, world famous Akumal beach is just a short walk away. Beneath the crystal clear waters you'll find a reef, making it the perfect beach for swimming, diving, and snorkeling. The beach at Tulum has been rated the best beach in Mexico and one of the top five beaches in the world according to the Traveler's Choice Awards by TripAdvisor. It is only 22 km away and great excursions can be booked together with admission to the ruins.
In Playa del Carmen (35 km north), take a stroll along the pedestrian Fifth Avenue strip, locally known as Quinta Avenida. La Quinta is the place to see and be seen. By day it's packed with people browsing the shops and boutiques; by night roving musicians entertain diners in the many restaurants and bars. Playa del Carmen is one of the Riviera Maya's top culinary destinations where you'll find everything from street tacos to five-star restaurants serving up their own unique takes on traditional Mayan and international cuisine. As the evening progresses, La Quinta gyrates to the sounds of rock, salsa and reggae as people flock to the bars and nightclubs. Ferry service connects the Caribbean island of Cozumel with Playa del Carmen so you can easily enjoy a day trip out to the island.
From Cancun International Airport, a taxi or shuttle service will cost around $80 - 100 and will take about 1 hour to reach the TAO complex.
If you are planning to rent a car (recommended, especially if you are planning to explore the region and nearby attractions), you should make a reservation before you arrive. Most of the major rental companies have agents at the Cancun airport. You will immediately get on modern highway # 307 and travel south for approximately 95 km. You can also rent cars in Tulum or take taxis to Akumal, Tulum, Playa Del Carmen, etc. for a reasonable rate.
