Apartment was clean and tidy on arrival, and looked just as it did in the pictures.Joseph reviewed Yorck #4 - ruhig und familienfreundlich in Kreuzberg
Location is good, located between two metros with fast links into city centre and also near a wide variety of shops and bars. The area itself is also very nice.
Unfortunately the pillows on the bed are totally worn out, and need to be replaced. This made sleeping quite uncomfortable. Other than that all facilities were good.
We were also disappointed to be charged an additional tax when we arrived which we were only told about the day before. It would be good to have this advertised clearly on the website.
However these are only tweaks to an overall great stay, and a lovely apartment!
Say “Ich Bin Ein Berliner” with 9flats.com
Just south of Berlin’s center, on the south bank of the River Spree, Kreuzberg is a unique part of Germany’s already unique capital city. One of the former West’s poorer neighborhoods, since reunification Kreuzberg has become synonymous with the city’s alternative culture and in many ways embodies the graffiti-covered, post-modern, ugly/beautiful aesthetic that makes Berlin such a vibrant and fascinating place. In recent years, it has become home to many musicians and artists from all over the world, and just walking around you can see the influence that the arts and counter-culture has had. From the anti-capitalist murals on walls, to the myriad street musicians, Kreuzberg has become one of Europe’s cultural epicenters. There are countless official and unofficial public art exhibits, sculptures and paintings, several parks and a canal on the banks of which the locals while away the long summer evenings drinking Bier and relaxing with their friends. There’s also a host of different markets throughout the week, including a Turkish market and plenty of quirky bars and cafes, stylish boutiques and a host of restaurants for visitors and locals alike to enjoy. Kreuzberg is also the birthplace of the döner kebab, the brainchild of a Turkish immigrant, his restaurant, Hasir, is still popular today. Vacation rentals in Berlin Kreuzberg are plentiful, and a much more authentic way to spend your time in this truly unique city.
Vacations Rentals in Berlin Kreuzberg
Choosing to stay in one of 9Flats’ vacation rentals in Berlin Kreuzberg also gives you other advantages. Staying in an apartment or a guest house is certainly cheaper than staying in a hotel. As well as this, you can cook for yourself, come and go as you please and perhaps chat with the neighbors and gain a little local knowledge. Kreuzberg is a central and well-connected district with regular, reliable and easy to use U-Bahn and bus services to all over the city. Wherever you are going within the city, you can get there quickly and easily.
For families or groups, vacation rentals in Berlin Kreuzberg gives everyone much more space, and even their own bedroom, meaning less stress all round, and on top of that it’s a great way to spend some real quality family time together. For those travelling to Berlin for its infamous party scene, Kreuzberg is just a stone’s throw across the river from the notorious Berghain. A Berlin institution, held in a disused DDR power station, and lasting the weekend long, Berghain is widely regarded to be one of the world’s best nightclubs. Vacation rentals in Berlin Kreuzberg make the ‘walk of shame’ back home much quicker, and of course, much less shameful without a hotel lobby to contend with.
