About Alexander

Alexander was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 19 Something to Walter and Josephine Smith. The sale of Alex first work of art at the age of five became the stimulus for the insatiable passion for the world of art that he possesses. Encouraged by his mother, an artist herself, and tutored in art by his brother, John, until he reached fourteen, he developed his one-of-a-kind artistic skills and imagination. At the age of six, Alex set his sights on becoming a wildlife artist. After fifteen years of diligent work and effort, he was forced to abandon the industry and change gears to commercial art due to the overwhelming presence of discrimination in the industry. Simultaneously, he branched out to multiple directions including fashion photography, ceramic sculpture, eatable sculpture, origami, key line & paste-up, illustration, portraiture, editorial illustration, and cartooning. During this time, he also managed to create cell animation for Universal Studios, set painting for "Angels and Demons" and completed other projects for , Barbara Streisand, Donna Summer, and John F. Kennedy Jr. Alex co-founded Clean Earth and currently volunteers his time as the organization’s CEO. In recent years, Alex has come full circle and returned to his original roots in naturalism. As the creator of W.R.A.P., and Artist In Search of Common Ground; Alex has combined his business savvy and dynamic personality to coordinate a massive effort to begin to educate people due to the alarming rates that our world’s rainforests are being destroyed. By educating the public, particularly children, of the need we have for these great forests on a daily basis, he believes we can make an impact on each individual child and society as a whole.
