If your apartment is located in Languedoc-Roussillon in the east of the region, the famous Camargue is only a stone’s throw away. This 930 km² large and breathtaking nature reserve is located between the Grand Rhône and Petit Rhône estuaries. One part is used for scenery, the other one is home to many animals: different bird species, proud bulls and the famous wild horses of the Camargue. Here you can spend days and even weeks discovering the flora and fauna. Nearby is the sanctuary of Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer with a 9th century church where the relics of St. Mary Salome and St. Mary Jakobäa are kept. Arles is not far away either. The city, founded by the Gauls, was a bishop’s seat until 1801 and has a wonderful old town.

The house was very pleasant and well decorated. The outside area and the swimming pool were lovely and made for a very relaxing holiday. The cooking facilities were rather limited - no oven and just two cooling rings, and a limited amount of implements. It took a while to get used to this but we managed very well in the end.Rosemary reviewed “La Petite Maison” – oriental-style bungalow near Carcassonne with... in Badens
