Über Lynne & John
Lynne and John were both born and bred in New Zealand. Lynne was brought up on a sheep & cattle farm in Southland and John was brought up in Canterbury where he served his time as a cabinet maker. We both owned and operated a Bed & Breakfast in Marlborough for several years before we brought Austin Heights . We both enjoy meeting and communicating with our Guests who come from all around the World to see our beautiful part of our country. John was a long haul truck driver for almost 30 years and Lynne had her own little beauty business as well as worked part time in the vineyards in Marlborough in the winter months before running their Bed and Breakfast. We started going to Kaikoura for the occasional weekend for a break and just loved the place for its beautiful scenery, marine & seabird life, plus all the wonderful outdoor activities. So the next best thing was to sell up and move to Kaikoura. Twelve months later we had brought Austin Heights B&B and upgraded it to a Quality Bed & Breakfast it is today. Building two new self contained Units on top for the beautiful scenery and completely renovating the house. We welcome you to enjoy our beautiful & peaceful surroundings. In season Austin Heights glows with color. If you have time out from your Whale watching, Dolphin & Seal swimming, beautiful Peninsula walks, wine tasting or many of the other wonderful Kaikoura activities, you may like to take a stroll around our prize-winning gardens or relax in our lovely private back-yard and enjoy a BBQ which is available for Guests to use..
