Born in the UK but Australian citizens and residents since 2002, my husband Jerry and I are excited to be sharing THE RETREAT with guests - we built THE RETREAT as the Guest House for our Main Home, which we built in 2008 on this land we have come to love. We are film-makers who film from the air so the light and views from THE RETREAT have always been so special to us, but we like our "mod cons" too, and are pleased to say that they make a wonderful latte, pour fabulous prize-winning wines, and serve internationally renown food in our local town of Heathcote, only 15minutes drive away. We can't do without music (The Rolling Stones), our favourite travel destination was either The Lakshadweep Islands in Southern India, Verana in Yelapa, Mexico or driving the PCH from Los Angeles to San Fran. My stand-out book of last year was "Burial Rites", the cuisine of Thailand, Mexico, modern California and Australia, and of course France and Italy keep us happy, as do movies, theatre and the opera.
