About Stelios and Maika
We are Maika and Stelios, a Greek couple in their 50s who love travelling and hosting. We have recently fully renovated our home in Athens and have introduced a relatively large veggie-patch. Having 2 spare rooms and many years of experience of hosting dinner parties and visitors (friends & family) from all parts of Greece and the UK, it seemed like a natural progression to run our home as a B&B. We have been operating as a B&B since the summer of 2011 with guests from all around the world. The veggie garden covers most of our yearly vegetable needs with its fresh, organic produce. We are proud to say that we were one of the first urban farms in Athens. We currently have plans to re-introduce an old water-well that will provide us with unlimited fresh water. This will enable us to extend our urban farm to the roof of our house for producing more delicious goodness. Furthermore, Maika is a keen home-cook who blends traditional Greek cooking with a modern twist. The seasonal produce from our veggie garden encourages cooking experimentation with outstanding results. Besides the available breakfast and dinner options, many guests get to enjoy complementary tasty treats throughout their stay. More importantly, they get to enjoy the treats under the shade of the trees in our beautiful back garden. We always enjoy meeting new people from all over the world and being introduced to their culture. As an exchange, we hope to provide a fantastic stay in Athens for all of our guests with good old-style Greek hospitality.
