About Katalin

I was born in Budapest and lived in Bajza street, the street around the corner from the flat, all my life, until I moved to Perth, Western Australia. After my parents died I needed to sell the old family flat, but could not stay away from the area for long, so I bought this little place. I asked a friend to furnish it for me, and we hang my father's artwork on the walls. He lived and painted in our old flat for more than 50 years. I have a real affinity for the district, I love the old buildings, the streets, the gardens, the people who still live around and whom I have known since my childhood. My favourite transport is the yellow underground that zooms under Andrassy Avenue. One of the first things I do every time I get to go back to Budapest is walk down Andrassy, all the way to the Opera, have a coffee in one of my favourite cafes and then catch the underground back home. I hope you will love staying in the little flat. It is very small, but perfect for a couple of people, and it is in such a lovely location. A lot of love has gone into furnishing it, so please enjoy it. Also enjoy my father's paintings. The flat is managed by Ilona, my friend, who is a fantastic host.
