We are a British couple, based in China for 10 years before relocating to Singapore, who spent a long time looking for the perfect rural retreat with rice terrace, jungle and mountain views to escape the concrete jungle and non stop pace of Shanghai! Having found Villa Abadi we now regularly spend quality time away from the frenetic pace of life in China and find real pleasure in our new found passion of identifying projects to improve Villa Abadi to not only increase the quality of the experience for ourselves, but also that of our guests. Joanne Woodward purchased this villa in 2011 Why did we choose Villa Abadi? Bali is an easy sell as a holiday destination with its tropical weather and fantastic surf and beaches, but all too many visitors only get to experience the 'tourist trail' Bali that has grown up around the popular locations of Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Sanur, Kuta etc. Villa Abadi is only 20 minutes from Seminyak but is in a different world, set in a small rural village on the edge of rice terraces, jungle and with views to Batukaru, Bali's 2nd highest mountain, in the distance. Ubud is just 20km away yet the villa is still less than 10 minutes from deserted paradise beaches. For the more adventurous, the much quieter Western part of the island, much of which is National Park, becomes much more accessible as do trips to the center and North coast of the island. What do we aim to achieve at Villa Abadi? We have invested a lot of time and effort in ensuring that Villa Abadi is ideal for those looking to relax in a rural tropical location where the traffic noises of the main tourist hubs are replaced by crowing roosters, bird song and the occasional village festival and the views of villa compound walls by working rice terraces, jungle, mountains and local village scenes. It is also a great base from which to explore greater Bali including central areas such as Bedugal and the north coast as well as the very quiet western parts of the island. With a variety of great dining options within 20 minutes of the villa and a similar trip time back to the bustle of Seminyaks bars & beaches we believe Villa Abadi offers the best of both worlds.
