A nice room in a good location for me in Munich. I needed access to the U6 line, which was a few minutes' walk away. The house is kept clean, if a little cluttered. The kitchen had most of what I needed, although I wasn't sure of the waste disposal process!
Getting hold of the key was made easy, particularly important when I arrived in the middle of the night (due to flight issues).
Perhaps it is the way Munich is, but for a private room, this did seem a little pricey.

The place is fantastic. We´ve been on free organ concerto in the church next to the house. The area is very green. There are also lot shops and pubs and the city centre is close.

The world-renowned Oktoberfest takes place in this area of Munich once every year, and people from all over the world descend on Theresienwiese to sample local beers, foods and German folk music. It is estimated that well over 6 million people visit the festival every year, so finding local hotel rooms in the area can be something of a challenge. Germany’s largest flea market takes place on the Oktoberfest site every April, and it attracts bargain-hunters from across Europe. However, nothing in the area comes close to matching the appeal and popularity of Oktoberfest. This 16-day celebration of German life actually begins at the end of September, and it usually concludes on the first full weekend of October.

Although the world knows this stunning event as the Oktoberfest, the locals refer to it as ‘die Wiesn’ – the colloquial name for fairgrounds in German. Such is the broad appeal of this incredible festival, other cities across the world hold simultaneous Oktoberfest celebrations in their own way. If you’re considering a trip to Germany’s most famous beer festival, make sure you can retreat to your very own vacation rental in Munich for a little luxurious living and privacy.
