The accommodation was excellent and decorated lovely. The location was really good for getting around both Germany and Basel. The garden was lovely and the pool a complete surprise. It was a delight to return to each day and the 3 of us didn't want to leave.

We stayed for 4 nights as I participate with a Fasnacht clique. The apartment is well situated near a tram / bus stop with good connections to the rest of Basel especially the main rail stations, the Messeplatz area and the Pharma company campuses.
There are supermarkets less than 100m away, cashpoints, and other shops as well as an Italian deli and bakery selling great "Schoggiweggli" next door.
In an older building, the flat is clean and tastefully furnished. A good sized bathroom and well equipped kitchen. The neighbourhood is quiet so ideal for getting one's head down if you are in town on business, while having good transport connections if you decide to go for a late evening out in the town.
I would definitely consider a return visit.

Due to circumstances entirely beyond our host's control (indeed, he tried to delay the process), the entire kitchen was ripped out during our stay. So we can't comment on the kitchen (hence 4 stars) except to say that there should be a brand new one there by now!
The room was light and airy with a lovely old maple tree out the window, and the bed very comfortable. The TV has a built-in DVD player, so you may want to bring along a movie for a lazy/early night.
The bathroom was large and extremely clean with a great shower head (important to me!) and a tub, and plenty of large, clean towels.
The trip from the airport to the apartment can be a bit confusing (make sure you are going in the right direction, which we didn't do), but once you've done it and mastered the train schedule, you can be in the center of the city in 5 minutes and catch all the streetcars from there. It just takes a little practice (but this is Zürich; not the flat!).
We would happily stay there again!
