ALFAMA LISBON PORTUGUESE TRADITIONS
Apartamento, A casa toda - Lisboa, Portugal
Welcome to your Alfama apartment!
Stay here and feel the heart of Alfama!
A Welcome pack is available for you in your living room: fresh fruit, a portuguese liquor and the knowns “Pastéis de Nata”. During your stay, you can also make and enjoy a good coffee espresso.
In this historic neighborhood of Lisbon abound trams (the most known is the n º 28), the Portuguese guitars accompanying artists singing Fado in several restaurants of Alfama and also the sardines and the "mangericos" (typical in June during the Festivities of Lisbon).
Also the esplanades, decorated streets and drying laundry hanging out the windows are permanently present in the alleys of Alfama.
The apartment to rent in the heart of Alfama was recently renovated, modern, fully furnished and equipped.
Its unique cozy, modern and simultaneously typical neighborhood decoration will surely make you feel the real environment of the most typical and charismatic neighborhood in Lisbon!
The apartment is perfect for a couple, but it accommodates comfortably up to 3 people (or 2 adults + 2 children) and it has:
- 1 bedroom with a large and a extremely comfortable bed, which will allow you a perfect rest and a great sleep.
- 1 living room that combines the traditional decoration with modernity. It has a comfortable sofá-bed.
- 1 kitchen fully equipped (oven, stove, microwaves, fridge, freezer, coffee machine, water kettle, washing machine) and with all utensils for self-catering. Besides, there is stock of basic foodstuffs (rice, pasta, tuna fish, olive oil, vinegar, oil for frying, salt, sugar, cinnamon).
- 1 bathroom (has free toiletries, hair dryer and hair straightener).
Everything is provided for your stay: bath towels and bed linen (sheets, duvets, blankets, pillows).
The apartment also it has cable TV, free WIFI internet all-over the apartment, CD Player and Radio.
The apartment has excellent thermal insulation windows, however a heater and a fan are also provided.
A kids pack is available on request (children’s seat, baby cot and bathtub).
A iron and a ironing board is also available on request.
The apartment is very well located in the one of the main streets of Alfama (Rua dos Remédios), where you can find almost everything: typical Fado restaurants, trendy bars, grocery stores with fresh fruit daily, typical bakeries with fresh bread, souvenirs, liquor stores, old barber shops, ...! In this beautiful Alfama location, a good night's rest is guaranteed as it's surprisingly quiet and silent during night period.
Also the apartment is placed next to the main touristic attractions of the old Lisbon: 150 metres from the Fado Museum and from the river side, where cruise ships dock. “Feira da Ladra” (flea market) – the oldest market in Portugal – is in short walking distance of 5 minutes, as well as National Pantheon and “São Vicente de Fora” church. “São Jorge” Castle and some other beautiful sights (“Graça”, “Portas do Sol” and “Santa Luzia”) are also within walking distance from the apartment (less 10 minutes), allowing great photos to the visitors.
Transports and how to get there:
The apartment is 5 minutes walking from Santa Apolonia train central station and Santa Apolonia subway station. There's also a taxi station there (a ride from/to the airport around 10€ to 15€). By subway or bus you take 10 minutes to get to downtown (Rossio / Baixa / Chiado).
I highly recommend the famous tram nº 28 within 200 metres from the apartment. It will give you the opportunity to go through historic neighborhoods of Lisbon.
Feel the heart of Alfama and enjoy your stay!!

Pedro was a great host. He picked us up from the airport and provided us with lots of useful information about Lisbon. He was very supportive and kind. A welcome pack (wine, pastries and map) was a very nice gesture.

Pedro takes the time to explain everything you need to know about the neighbourhood and the flat. He even bought us some pastel nata (cakes) and port wine at the beginning, which was very kind. Everything is well organized and Pedro is dedicated to facilitate you a pleasant stay in Lisboa!
