Originally a private home, this four-bedroom villa has intriguing Japanese features combined with carefully chosen Western comforts. The ski area is just three minutes away by shuttle bus or ten-minute walk.
Just four guest rooms mean individual attention, you even get to choose your own breakfast! We like to mix it up, one day it might be bacon and eggs, another day, French toast with local blueberries or shakshouka, a Middle Eastern baked tomato dish. In any case, there is always our fresh home-made bread and our own jam and sauce.
Two guest lounges, both upstairs and down, allow plenty of room for relaxing after a day on the slopes. Two upstairs bedrooms are spacious and sunny with plenty of storage room, both have two large single beds while the Japanese suite downstairs includes a double bed along with tatami mat floors, shoji paper screens and decorative timber features. An adjoining tatami mat room is large enough for three people on futons; it’s great for kids travelling with parents.
Australian owners live here year round and can help you with ski passes, lessons and secret attractions in the nearby area. We can even arrange a private Japanese cooking class while kids will love to make their own noodles!
Hakuba Goryu ski resort, which has 21 lifts is five minutes walk away or a quick shuttle bus ride. There are a total of seven resorts in Hakuba and other ski resorts in the valley such as Happo One and Cortina can be reached by train.
A traditional Japanese onsen bath is located at the bottom of the street and the convenience store and ATM are ten minutes walk away. Apart from Bike Bar, our on-site restaurant and bar, there is a variety of venues offering Japanese and international food nearby.
