NOTE: Place will be rented as an empty one-bedroom apartment for person, couple, or family during Christmastime only. Otherwise, is only a room for rent in a shared apartment.
Rent a beautiful, furnished (king bed!) bedroom in my home--I have a very large (1200 sq. ft.), 2.5 bedroom, nicely-decorated apartment in a trendy, quiet, safe neighborhood in the heart of LA, and am renting out one of the 2 bedrooms by the night, week, or month. This isn't some crappy box-like apartment with just a futon in the corner, in a sketchy area. This is one of the nicest parts of town and a large, beautiful residence w/ all the amenities and wonderful neighbors--all of that is not necessarily the easiest to find in this city.
Apartment (including bedroom for rent) is fully-furnished and has been called very warm and cozy by visitors, despite the large rooms (see pics--which, because rooms are so large, generally only show half the room). Apartment includes wireless, private laundry room, dishwasher, and both a tub and shower (picture below only shows tub side). There is a small outdoor terrace in the entry, overlooking the garden and tree-lined street.
Bedroom for rent has super-comfy king-size bed, clock/radio, flat-screen TV with DVD/VCR, multiple mirrors, 2 windows (bright if u open shades), lounger chair, 2 dressers, 1 desk, closet, and plenty of extra storage for possessions. Apartment is light and airy, with 14' beamed ceilings, hardwood floors, archway, (non-working) fireplace. Front wall is all french door windows. Electric and plumbing have been redone. Wonderful vibe.
If you don't know the area, location is ideal. This is the most centrally located part of town. Everything in either direction (beach, valley, airport, east side) is about 20-25 minutes by car, and if you don't have a car, every kind of business you might need to visit in LA is within walking distance (2-6 blocks, at most)--rare for L.A., like:
--The Grove Mall (w/ multiplex cinema) & Farmer's Market
--Melrose Avenue & West Hollywood
--Cool clothes shopping (the Grove Mall, Melrose Ave.)
--Park (across street--has playground, basketball courts, and running area; lit at night, too)
--Grocery Stores (Health food store/deli, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, CVS pharmacy, Super K-Mart, 7-11)
--Coffee shop with free wireless
--Restaurants/Bars: Italian, Pan-Asian, Thai, Tacos, Sandwich shop, healthy lunch/breakfast place. My street is smack dab in the center of what's considered LA's alternative "restaurant row."
--Post office (across street)
--Fairfax District (Jewish neighborhood, temples, kosher stores & restaurants)
Although the apartment is very close to businesses, the actual street where residence is located is a lovely, tree-lined, neighborhoody street with permit parking for residents (and guests) only. Building is a 1920's Spanish colonial quad-plex with friendly neighbors.
To clarify again, you would only be renting the one bedroom as your space alone; the common areas (kitchen, laundry, living room, dining room, hallway, bathroom) would still be shared with me on evenings and weekends.
