Restored historic 1910 Guest House (behind the Pritchard House, c. 1890 which faces the May River, a salt water estuary). Freestanding guest house completely paneled in heart pine bead board has: rooms with ceiling fans: sitting/dining room, 2 bedrooms (1 Queen or 2 twins). One bath (claw foot tub/shower) and kitchen (no DW). Large front porch has ceiling fans, swing and rockers looking over a large mature camellia garden, and there's always something blooming. Filled with antiques and southern crafts. HVAC, TV cable, wi-fi is free. Parking for 2 cars adjacent to cottage. Now handicap accessible. All linens furnished. It's a charmer.
Don't miss the Cole-Heyward House museum where you can pick up a self-guided walking tour map of the historic district in a great little book called "A Guide to Historic Bluffton" (I wrote it.). Pick up the current Bluffton Breeze and check out all the restaurants, festivals and Farmer's Markets (Thursdays). Visit the Bluffton Oyster Factory, dedicated to bringing you the freshest seafood from local waters.
Boating tours by kayak or motor boat and fishing excursions easily arranged. Three blocks to charming shops, galleries and restaurants. Great biking area (flat Lowcountry) with miles of trails. Day trips to Hilton Head Island beaches/family attractions are 20 minutes away and Savannah, GA night life and historic tours, museums etc. 30-40 minutes by car, depending on traffic.
