The house is a 10 min bike ride from downtown and the port of Haugesund. I have a cozy loft you can stay at while you explore this beautiful Norwegian coastal town. There are lots to see but beware of the weather. With proper rain gear it can be fun to feel the storms tearing in your face!
TV, wifi and a plug and play for your music is available. The queen size bed puts you comfortable to sleep.
Let me know in advance if you'd like some breakfast and I'll whoop something up. The kitchen is fully equipped.
The loft has its own sink and toilet. Down stairs you'll find a full bathroom with a great shower. A quality washer takes care of work out clothes and other stuff you might wanna have cleaned.
The local bus passes a block a way.
Shopping areas are nearby and for sightseeing around Haugesund you can reach just about everywhere on a bike. With a car or by bus you can easily do day trips to the fjords or the Folgefonna Glacier which has summer skiing. Trips to the outer island is recommended.
For centuries the people of Haugesund have offered lodging for shoreside sailors for a few days or weeks before going home or seeking hire at new shipping line. The families providing a room would usually themselves have a father or husband out at sea and this was a means of getting a bit of extra income as well as have man in the house for the toddlers to learn some respect for when the father would return after years at sea. My grandmother's house had such a room.
These days there are not many sailors spending much time in Haugesund but more tourists or business people. Its great to keep up the tradition for the pure fun of it and meeting new and interesting people!
