You will reside in the "Village Saint Honore", a very old and very posh, absolutely charming block in the very heart of Paris. It is the chime of the Saint Eustache church that will gently remind you that it is time to enjoy your breakfast and start a beautiful day, why not go downstairs and buy yourself some of these croissants the Julien Bakery earned its reputation for? You will soon find that you are a walking distance from everything, Pont Neuf, Tuileries, Pont aux Arts, Saint Germain-des-Pres, Beaubourg, Opera Garnier, Le Marais, Montorgueil, Le Louvre, Palais Royal, yet this place is fantastically peaceful and nurturing.
Whether you are into restaurants, upscale fashion boutiques (JC de Castelbajac, Espace Pierre Cardin, VANS...), history, beauty, mind and body development or culture, there will be something for you here! Groceries galore, beautiful shops and trendy places are the norm here. Set your own pace by strolling the walking streets like and enjoy an incomparable day of indulgence and eye feast!
When you are back from a long day out, and even much later at night, you will still be able to buy some food and drinks at the numerous groceries around to your heart content. A night out can also mean taking a dive with the kids in the near-by swimming pool, having a masseur come and take care of your sore legs, or chilling out at one of the many comfy cocktail bars around, the world is your oyster!
If you are in a romantic mood, a stroll along the Pont Neuf and the Pont des Arts (bring a small padlock and a permanent marker pen with you) is guaranteed to fill your heart with warm memories. Otherwise, why not sample some delicious food from one of the many take-away places downstairs, with a nice bottle of wine quietly at home?
The place is warm and inviting, it's very bright and airy, and I have designed it to make it as welcoming as possible. Here you will recharge your batteries in no time! The bedroom is fantastically quiet even when the windows are left ajar, and the living room is fantastically bright. Very accommodating up to 4 people (best is 2), the apartment is endowed with comfort and unobtrusive practicability (a bedroom with twin beds, a living room with a pull out sofa accommodating 2). Bring your sweetheart here and memories of a life time are guaranteed!
This building is filled with history. Firstly, it is a classified monument (a beam in the apartment up mine on the 5th floor shows 1636. The caves are a bit over 1,000 years old and they are impressive! We used to have a corridor running underneath the street with a connection to the basement of the building facing ours, but unfortunately, it was sealed a few years back, the wall of bricks can still be seen in the cellar.
On the 10th of May 1610, the beloved Henri the IV, after being stabbed by Ravaillac, was transported in front of the apartment to "Le Bourdon d'Or", an "apotheque" (chemist and alchemist back then) for an emergency treatment, before being taken to Le Louvre where he passed away.
That building can be seen from the apartment where a couple of benevolent ghosts might at times be encountered (2 men, a potbellied 60ish one, and a 30ish slender one, elegantly dressed up). Back in the 17th century, they used to make candles for Versailles castle. They are well meant and behaved, there is no need to be scared if you spot them, they cannot, and will not harm you, they are just curious of what happens with the place the love so much (just like me).
The building cannot accommodate a lift as it is too old. The apartments here have high ceilings and this one is on the 4th floor (plus ground floor). Keep this in mind when packing your luggage!
Taxi from and to Charles de Gaulle Airport 45 minutes, 55 euros. Metro stations: Louvre, Chatelet-les-Halles, Pont Neuf. The RER B will take you to Orly or Charles de Gaulle Airports in no more than 45 minutes, when they are not on strike! The flat has a great location, however it's very small, the stairs on the 4th floor is exhausting. The washing machine is listed as a facility, but advised not to use because there is no drying facilities. The pictures makes the apartment look bigger than it actually is.
Mobility in the bedroom extremely limited. This room should be labeled a dressing room.....only about 15square meters.
The main building needs some serious renovations.

The flat is great and works for a family of 4. It is stylish and modern and makes you feel like you are living in Paris and not just staying there. The living room has a place to sleep and there is an additional bedroom. We actually chose to put the 2 kids in the bedroom, so that they could sleep earlier and we stayed up with a glass of wine in the living room and then slept on the pull-out sofa. It was comfortable and no problem for adults to sleep on - and we are usually picky with matresses! The location was amazing and friends stayed in the hotel across the street. The bathroom has a tub/shower and a washing machine, which was helpful. It is a busy bustling street in Les Halles - we only bought metro tickets for 3 of our 7 days - the rest we walked and walked. Many things you would want to do in Paris are in walking distance. The 4th floor means a good view and extra exercise after all that rich French food. We would stay here again - our kids even started calling the place "home."

Francois met us on the day we checked in - he happened to be in town - and was very friendly and very flexible with the check-out (which someone else managed). All emails were responded to quickly and professionally. We paid 400€ deposit and got the money back when we checked out. Everything was well organized and we would stay there again! Thanks for providing us with a great place to stay for our magical week in Paris. No problems, no complaints!

Francois was very quick to answer my emails, and gave us all the details we needed about the appartment and how to get there. He was also very kind and helped us extending our check out time as our train was late afternoon.
