The apartment is a freshly renewed two-story (7th-8th floor), with excellent materials and a unique architecture, that includes a number of specially designed pieces, and some original artworks from Portuguese contemporary artists.
The apartment has three rooms: a double room and a twin room in the ground floor, and a single room in the upper floor, where there is also a kitchen and a dining place. There is also a sofa in the living room upstairs, that can accommodate one further person. All rooms have access to a shared balcony, with a nice view over central Lisbon. There are two bathrooms, one in each floor. All room have lockers.
Lisbon is a quite small city, and Alvalade is very central and excelelntly served with public transportation. The closest tube station, Roma, is at less than 5 minutes walk. You can use the tube to reach the historical centre (8 stops 10min. from Roma to Chiado).
You also have a stop for sightseeing buses in Entre-Campos (5 min. walk): the "yellow bus" stop number 13, and the "hop on hop off" stop number 18. At 10 minutes walking distance you have the train station of Entrecampos, from where you can reach Sintra, Évora, Belém, Cascais, Porto and Algarve. The airport is at 10 minutes reach by taxi (11 tube stops, with a changing line).
The neighborhood of Alvalade, where the apartment is located, is a residential and business area in central Lisbon. Thanks to a urban plan that was designed based on models ranging from the modern movement to the garden city, privileging the concept of pedestrian dislocation, Alvalade became the symbol of the modern Lisbon of the 50's and 60's. The area is served with elegant cafeterias, shoppings, and cinemas. It certainly pays to walk around the shopping areas of Avenida de Roma, Avenida da Igreja, and Campo Pequeno, or in the gardens and lake of Campo Grande. If you are courageous, you may walk up Avenida da Republica to reach Saldanha, and return by tube.
