Dear Guest,Welcome to apartment 267. Our home is situated in Trastevere, one of the oldest and liveliest parts of Rome, full of Restaurants and cafés but also at a short walk from the Botanical Gardens of Rome, local museums and sights (including the Farnesina with frescoes by Raphael and Santa Maria in Trastevere one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in Rome) and the American Academy in Rome. It is in a quiet street very close to the river Tiber and the bridge called Ponte Sisto which takes you right into the heart of Rome and from where most of the sights are within walking distance. At about a 15 minute walk, on the left side of the river, one can reach St. Peters and the Vatican. In Piazza S. Cosimato you will find a local open air market with fresh produce but the area is well served with delicatessens and supermarkets. The apartment is in an 18th century building with high wooden beamed ceilings and has a very personal charm due to the owner’s many travels and interests as an art historian. The apartment has been refurbished this year (2014). Improvements have been made also thanks to the kind suggestions that have been made by our previous guests. Most of the apartment and the balcony have been re-painted and new lighting has been put into the bathroom and sitting/dining room and bedrooms and corridor. There are new kitchen utensils, towels and bed linen. A new flat screen television has been placed in the sitting room. A new flat screen has been bought for the computer which is at your disposal together with a printer. A WIFI connection is now available for your computer should you want to use it.The bedrooms have also been redecorated with new beds and mattresses, a new cupboard with hanging space and drawers, a pouf for you to sit on and new lighting.A new hot water boiler was installed in September 2011 and the apartment has independent central heating. We hope you enjoy staying with us and please feel free to ask us for any information you might need.December 2014 update - A new washing machine has been installed. IMPORTANT - The apartment now provides a cot, baby bouncer, high chair and some toys for your children .
