YOU GET: your private apartment-like bedroom (28 m2) in a shared 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom double-storey rooftop loft-type flat (215 m2). Your L-shaped “apartment”, away from any street noise and thoroughly quiet, features three successive areas (a bedroom, a study with writing desk, and a reading/sitting area) as well as your own en suite bathroom. Amenities include a 1.40mx2.00m Futon mattress, a clothes-hanging wood-grid with hooks and hangers, a three-drawer chest and an ample array of additional shelves.
Your bed will obviously be freshly made for your arrival. We provide cotton linen on the bed, fresh plush cotton towels (bath size, personal size).
You have exclusive use of your private guest south-oriented bathroom with window, washing basin, shower, lavatory, as well as your own washing machine and dryer (Whirlpool and Siemens) for your laundry. A hairdryer, cleansing tissues and cosmetic pads are being provided as well. Since being ourselves producers of high-end organic olive cosmetics, we have natural French olive-oil-based soaps and organic shampoos (various types) for your own use, if you wish it.
When you walk in, by your bed will be your keys, your WIFI access code, drinking glasses, mineral water, and a map to the city. A tray with tea & coffee-making facilities for your own use will be ready as well.

Organic continental breakfast (organic orange juice, Austrian organic milk, organic wholemeal bread, Austrian organic butter, Austrian traditional jams and selected honeys from Vienna’s upper hills, your choice of high-end tea or coffee) is part of your treat. Your breakfast will be ready from 08:30am for you to enjoy either in the dining room or, in summer, outside on the veranda (weather permitting).

LIVING UNDER THE SAME ROOF - PRIVACY: We live in another large bedroom on the other side of the loft-space and have our own bathroom, meaning that both guests’ and hosts’ privacy are fully secured. We are available to offer advice about the city, to have a nice conversation with, or to help you with any needs that come up. When not at home, you can reach us on either of our cell phones.

ABOUT THE BUILDING: Our rooftop flat with east-west orientation is part of a unique historic pedestrian alleyway precinct featuring three successive courtyards accessible from either Neustiftgasse (south entrance) or Lerchenfelder Strasse (north entrance), two of the prominent thoroughfares of Vienna’s trendy 7th district. Apart from the actual flats surrounding each courtyard, the large historic precinct offers a varied, enticing bourgeois-bohème environment including for instance an organic traditional bakery, a bike specialist, a café art gallery offering all-day breakfast, a baroque religious statue and a prominent gourmet restaurant!

YOU CAN USE: In spring and summer, feel free to use the flat’s own built-in rooftop terrace (10m2, east oriented, i.e. morning sun), whether for breakfast or, if no one else is using it, at any other time for a coffee break or a drink. Please enjoy full use of the high-end Siemens fridge in the kitchen, if you want to store food and drinks. Should it rain, we have an assortment of umbrellas for you to choose from (although Vienna’s continental climate tend to be rather dry) and sturdy shopping bags for groceries. If there's anything else you need, please don't hesitate to ask us.

ECO AND ALLERGY FRIENDLY: As producers of organic-certified high-end cosmetics, we naturally keep our living environment eco-friendly. The sheets/towels are washed in scent-free, environmentally friendly detergent. The olive-oil hand-soap is natural and non-toxic. The cleaning products we use are organic and sustainable.

NEIGHBOURHOOD: A host of Vienna’s top museums (KHM; MQ Museumsquartier with Leopold Museum and MUMOK) and sight-seeing attractions (Ringstrasse, Parliament, Town Hall, Secession, Hofburg) are within a 5 to 15mn-walking distance, and so are shopping areas, with particularly Mariahilferstrasse, one of the busiest pedestrian shopping streets in Vienna, not to forget the enticing street market Naschmarkt. The 7th district, though being central (a bare 2-metro-station ride from the inner city and Stephansdom / St Stephen’s cathedral), is the alternative, trendy area of Vienna and offers a large array of restaurants and late-night bars, in particular in our area thanks to the direct vicinity of the Museumsquartier and the lovely bustling 18thcentury Spittelberg quarter. Classical music venues, like the world-famous Vienna Opera (Staatsoper), the Musikverein and the Konzerthaus are two metro stations away or 20mn on foot.
If you want to experience the best of Vienna, you can hardly find a better location to stay in. Let us know if you want advice on what to check out. Although originally a French family, we moved businesswise out of Paris to Austria in 1996 and have been living in Vienna since then, so we are more than happy to share views and advice!

TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM AIRPORT: airport-city connections are either the Vienna Airport Lines coach (20mn) to Schwedenplatz-Morzinplatz or the CAT City Airport Train (16mn) to Wien Mitte, the latter option granting direct onward metro connection (4 stops, 20mn) to our area. Both connections run twice hourly.
Alternatively, a direct airport taxi ride is best booked online on http://red-cab.at (at the latest 24 hours prior to your arrival; no last minute booking). The taxi ride from the airport terminal to our building takes approximately 35mn under standard traffic circumstances.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: The nearest underground/subway station, Volkstheater, is about a 5-minute walk down the street, offering 2 lines (U2 and U3) with ample access to the whole of Vienna and direct connection both to the City Airport Train station and to the Westbahnhof, one of Vienna’s major long-distance train stations.
Trams 46 and 49, as well as buses 13A and 48A also call at our doorstep. Additionally, all Vienna Ring Trams (1, 2, 71, D) call nearby as well.
At weekends, the underground/subway system operates on a 24-hour basis, which makes such direct vicinity of a metro station a blessing!

PARKING: For guests travelling to Vienna by car, two major parking facilities offering weekly arrangements are available close to our building, the one off the north entrance (Lerchenfelder Strasse side), the other on the south entrance (Neustiftgasse) side at the Museumsquartier. However, guests should know that Vienna is best enjoyed without a car and by its most impressive public transportation system. Also, Vienna’s 7th district happens to be run by a team of “green” politicians who overtly do not exactly favour cars...

PRIVACY. WANT TO CHAT? OR NOT CHAT? We are very friendly and love to talk, whenever guests wish it. So, if you feel like socializing, that's great. But if you do not want to start a conversation, we fully respect this and you certainly do not have to worry about your privacy whilst staying with us.

COMING FOR A CONVENTION? Vienna is ranked as Europe’s second most sought-after convention location. Most conventions are held either at the Hofburg (the former Imperial Palace in the heart of Vienna) or at the Austria Center across the Danube close to the United Nations Quarter. Both are easily accessible by underground/subway in respectively 10mn (Hofburg) and 30mn (Austria Center) from the nearby Volkstheater station.
