We would like to welcome you in our lovely flat at Arnold Circus, the green heart of Shoreditch.
You would share the flat with a couple in their late twenties. We both love cooking, chatting over a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening, literature & theatre, and concerts of hip underground jazz.
Deborah is very much into sewing, old furnishings, London's diverse markets, theatre, and the Hebrew language.
Heiko likes all kinds of sports (climbing and kick-boxing in particular), music (he studied Jazz-guitar in the Netherlands before switching to maths), and travelling.
We would love to show you around in London and tell you all our secret tips for nice places around, so feel free to ask.
Shoreditch is known as the home of hipsterness. It offers a variety of markets, vintage shops, delicious street-food and plenty of nice retaurants, graffiti and street art, and features always the newest trends for street style blog photographers. Having made a transformation from a rough borough to a diverse and multi-cultured centre of arts and creativity, Shoreditch is the place to be in London. If your prefer it a bit more quiet, don't worry - there are plenty of parks and the lovely Reagent's canal in walking distance of our house.
Our house is located at Arnold Circus, and is one of the beautiful Boundary Estate building. The Boundary Estate is a housing development, formally opened in 1900, in the East End of London. It was one of the earliest social housing schemes built by a local government authority.
Our flat is located close to Shoreditch High Street Station, and only a 10 minute walk away from several tube stations (Liverpool Street, Old Street, Aldgate East, Whitechapel, and Bethnal Green). There is a 24h bus service stopping almost in front out our house - well, actually 2 minutes by foot. Close to our house are several Barclay Bike stations where you can hire a bike to get around, and the Reagent's canal is only a 15 minute walk away if you fancy a canal boat tour.
The bedroom is the dream of every admirer of wooden floor, antique white furniture, and direct sunlight in the morning. It comes with an adorable view over a park, which also means that it is quiet during nights as no main street is close. The room has a wardrobe and a little drawer cabinet, so there is plenty of space for your stuff.
The bathrooms are the coolest features of our flat, and you will feel like in an moroccan bath! We have a huge walk-in shower with beautiful mosaic tiles, a very relaxing bathroom with a bathtub and candles for a nice foam bath in the evenings, and the wood our other bathroom was made of was used by the architect for building a church in Belfast! You will feel like in a spa and wellness resort, so take your time and enjoy yourself!
THE LIVING ROOM
Our living room features books sorted by colour, a classy music collection, and plenty of space. We invite you heartily to feel at home in our house, and would enjoy a dinner or lunch together. We have no TV, as we in general prefer a nice chat over a glass of wine (or two) over consuming electronic entertainment.
We have an open kitchen with the biggest fridge you have ever seen - it even has an ice cube dispenser! Our kitchen comes with an 5 hob gas oven, a dishwasher, washing machine, a double sink, and a slow cooker. We love cooking, so we have all the stuff you might need for creating eggs Benedict in the morning, lemon-poppy seed cupcakes in the afternoon, or a lamb roast for dinner. As we love having guests, we would enjoy having some meals with you, but feel free to explore the kitchen on your own.
