The large laundry/mud room has an HE3 front load washer and dryer, utility sink & numerous games to play. Our comfortable & large back deck has plenty of seating/tables for morning coffee/tea, happy hour enjoyment, stunning sunrises & sunsets, relaxation, and amazing views.

Wireless Internet via DSL is included.

Our luxurious, slice of mountain paradise is private luxury located in a close-knit, historic community that wholly embraces energetic, peaceful, laid back lifestyles. Salida is a beautiful & charming town of 5500 people that's a short distance from the famed Rainbow Hiking Trail; offers world class mountain biking trails; has been featured on HGTV as the "Town that Decorates an Entire Mountain;" and is called "The Little Soho of the West" because of it's plentiful, nationally acclaimed artists/galleries and large number of year-round art events.

Each June, the largest whitewater rafting festival in the country, FIBArk (short for First In Boating on The Arkansas), begins on the Tuesday before Father's Day. World champion kayakers compete during 6 days of various competitions, daily/nightly free live music is offered and a fun, festival atmosphere abounds. In the past, New Belgium/Fat Tire has sponsored the event but now, a terrific local brewery, The Eddyline, is the key FIBArk sponsor. Obviously, great beer selections are guaranteed. The most popular and funniest FIBArk event is the Hooligan Race (5pm on the Saturday before Father's Day) where contestant teams construct theme rafts from items such as bales of hay, empty kegs, tires, floats, sofas, & bath tubs then try to navigate over rapids and under the F Street Bridge. Hollering, hooting, and hysteria richly fill the air when rafts pass through the Boat Ramp Rapids as contestants jump for money strung high across the Arkansas. Most rafts eject people, break apart, or completely flip over!

Our County enjoys over 330 days of sunshine annually; has the most 14,000+ ft. peaks concentrated into the smallest geographical area in the USA; is 30 minutes from the Continental Divide/Monarch Pass; has numerous, easy to reach hot springs; and boasts of having the most rafted stretch of any river in the United States (Arkansas River). In addition, Chaffee County is home to the most craft microbreweries & distilleries per capita in the United States and has numerous high quality gems/minerals on display at the Smithsonian Institute. Great day trips include The Great Dunes National Park, Black Canyon at the Gunnison National Park, the ghost towns of Turret and St. Elmo, a drive along Aspen Ridge especially in the fall, hiking/biking/gondola-ing along the Continental Divide, visiting the awesome Royal Gorge & driving to Leadville, the highest town in the country at 10,200 ft. We live in a truly special & blessed area and would like to share it with you.

We cordially invite you to come stay at our home and help yourself to a light breakfast of tea, coffee, organic oatmeal, and toast/jam as well as plenty of clean towels and linens, hair dryers, iron/ironing board, and local maps/brochures. As hosts, we will be happy to provide information on places to visit and where to rent bikes, horses, snowmobiles, skis, ATV's, Jeeps, etc. If there is anything we can help you with, please ask. If you haven't experienced the unique community that is Salida in the Heart of the beautiful Rocky Mountains, you need to come soon.

Have a happy day!
