We live in a beautiful, rural area known as the "Upper Valley" near Lake Fairlee and Lake Morey, West Fairlee, Vermont just minutes from Dartmouth College/Hospital. Step out the front door of our Cape Style home to the private dead end street, relax in the backyard under an umbrella or canoe or kayak on the river or lake, take a hike on one of the many trails, walk to the local farm stand/greenhouses, our neighborhood takes you by fields of cows, mountain views, and river valleys. Walk to Post Mills hot air balloon rides.
The guest room on the first floor is well appointed with comfortable linens, 1 single bed, and is decorated with soothing colors and fabrics. NOTE: If you're traveling as a family or as a larger group, we do have cot/extra rooms which are located on the second floor with single beds that sleep an additional two people comfortably. One second bedroom one has a private half bath.

We have free wifi and parking which will accommodate RVs, boats, etc., a fully equipped kitchen for an extra charge - and refrigerator in which to store your perishables.
This is the perfect spot to come for a little R&R in northern New England or if you are in the area visiting Dartmouth College, the Tuck School of Business, Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth Medical School, King Arthur Flour, to golf, hike in the mountains, fishing, kayaking, canoeing or just taking a break on a long journey or just here to appreciate the abundant natural beauty of the area. Nearby Hanover boasts some fun restaurants, a vibrant seasonal farmers market, a movie theater, and the Hood Art Museum. The year-round outdoor opportunities can't be beat: we're close to the Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme, NH, the new Nordic Center in Strafford, Whaleback Mountain, skating ponds, waterfalls, mountain biking trails, the Appalachian Trail, and fantastic day hikes. We'd love to recommend fun destinations to make your stay even more special.
You will be a guest in our family home. Rooms are located on separate floors in the house, and the shared bathroom is on the 1st floor. You are welcome to share our common living spaces (kitchen, dining room, living room, outside porches, decks, gardens).
Guest dogs may be negotiable with prior approval. We just want to be sure that visiting dogs will be compatible with our dogs and chickens maybe ducks.
Our homestead is a non use of smoking/chewing tobacco on property.

We have a friendly poodles and chickens for daily fresh eggs and who keep our gardens pest free. In the summer, our house is surrounded by perennial and vegetable gardens, and a growing fruit trees.
Our property is near the Appalachian Trail Corridor and is contiguous with Land Trust and town forest, offering access right out our backdoor to miles and miles of trails for walking, hiking, mountain biking and cross country skiing. Each season offers opportunities to glimpse wildlife and birds. Vermont is a special destination at all its four seasons (spring for the new growth and fall for its spectacular colors).
We are located 10 minutes from I-91, within a short drive to Dartmouth College/Hanover, NH, Woodstock, VT, as well as many ski areas and local attractions. Driving times from Boston: 2.5 hours; NYC: 5 hours; Montreal: 3.5 hours. Public transportation from Boston, New York and Burlington/Montreal (trains and buses) are available to nearby White River Junction. You will need a car to get around, as much of Vermont and New Hampshire is rural with little to no public transportation. There are a number of rental car agencies nearby in West Lebanon, NH/White River Jct, VT. There are many restaurants within a short drive (15-30 minutes). A small general store with a full service deli is located a bike ride away.
