In 2005, while out on a drive from Santa Fe, we stumbled into the most amazing natural landscape we had ever seen - the red rocks and water around Abiquiú Lake. We saw an old wooden painted sign that read “Lakefront Lots for Sale” and we immediately called the number. And that very night we were the shocked owners of 12 acres that included a mesa top, the land down the rocky bank to the water, and the land under the water that extends out into the middle of the lake. In 2010 we built our dream authentic luxury Casita and named it The Casita del Lago - or Little House on the Lake. We carved The Casita into the side of the bank and designed every inch of the home around the views. Since then, we’ve purchased an additional 20 acres. Needless to say, we absolutely love the area, the people, the land, and our home. Some day we will retire here. We currently live outside of Dallas, Texas, where we both work full-time. We have three wonderful kids who are “almost adults”. Whenever we can be in Abiquiú - when our jobs and kids permit it - we are in Abiquiú. And when we aren’t in New Mexico, we open our home up for vacation rentals. We manage The Casita rentals ourselves, with the help of our property managers, Ramey and Katy, who take care of every detail out in Abiquiú. We work hard to be extremely responsive to rental requests, questions and anything we can help you with. It is our goal that every guest has a perfect vacation. Many of our guests return year after year, many have celebrated weddings, birthdays and anniversaries with us - we are very appreciative of each and every one of you and are happy that you can experience The Land of Enchantment at The Casita del Lago.
