It is an old studio with a low ceiling (about 1.90m). Great location close to the Notre Dame de Paris. It consists of a main room with a double bed, a table and a small kitchenette, as well as a flat screen TV and high speed wireless internet. Then there is a bathroom with shower and sink. To access the toilet you must pass a small door with an even lower ceiling.
The studio is situated in a very central street, just steps from Saint Germain des Prés, Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter.
The Latin Quarter extends from the 5th arrondissement, slightly into the 6th, and onto the île de la Cité. It is the worthy representative of Paris’ Left Bank, bordered to the south by the Boulevard de Port-Royal. Its historic heart is the Sorbonne. It takes its name from medieval times: it was the neighborhood where people spoke Latin; since school and university courses were taught in this language. Today it is still a lively neighborhood, above all a student neighborhood, since many Parisian universities and schools are located here. It is also a very touristy neighborhood, with many monuments to be discovered: the Pantheon, the Arènes de Lutèce, and the catacombs. It is also full of gardens: the Jardin des Plantes, Paris’ botanical gardens which are home to the Museum of Natural History and its large gallery on evolution, the paleontological gallery…as well as La Ménagerie, which is one of the oldest zoos in the world. Close by, the Gare d’Austerlitz train station serves routes between Paris and southwestern France. You absolutely must go get lost along the rue Mouffetard, the Place de la Contrescarpe, its narrow little streets, and down to the Saint-Michel fountain. Then, along the banks, you will notice that in front of you is the île de la Cité, where the majestic Notre-Dame cathedral awaits you. Sitting down in a cafe and debating ideas is a Parisian activity in its own right, which you can see by wandering around this neighborhood. It is a perfect place to discover an historic and charming part of Paris, and is also well served by metros and buses. It is centrally-located, lively, and ideal for a cultural visit to Paris.
