Klaus 5.0 23.07.2018Die Unterkunft liegt in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße zentral in Köln-Mühlheim, so dass wir alles, was wir für den täglichen Bedarf brauchten, zu Fuß eingekauft haben. Gefrühstückt haben wir dann auf einer schönen Terasse in einem grünen Innenhof. Die Wohnung ist modern und geschmackvoll eingerichtet.
Mit dem Fahrrad waren wir in wenigen Minuten am Rhein und im Rheinpark und auch das Zentrum mit dem Dom und der Altstadt auf der anderen Rheinseite konnten wir gut und leicht erreichen. -

This place is in a very quiet neighborhood and public transportation is not far away from the place. There is also a shopping center nearby. Very nice place and easy access to everywhere by public transportation.

The apartment is very stylishly decorated and has everything you need.
The location is very nice, about 5 min walk to the U-bahn, and after 10 min you're in the Altstadt. You can leave your car in the private parkingspot for your whole journey (which is a good thing 'cause free parking lots are hard to find). -

The apartment is located in the university district, and is therefore extremely convenient for visitors/guest scholars at Uni Köln who will stay for a limited time (few weeks). The central location lets you reach everything by foot, including stores, bakeries, parks, etc.
The apartment is well equipped with all modern conveniences (except a microwave). The large windows let in plenty of sunshine, and the general appearance is extremely pleasant. The smart layout allowed us to sleep there as a family with 2 children (one bedroom, one lounge). Despite the central location, there is no noise from the street.
As the weather fluctuated dramatically from cool (10 C, 50 F) to hot (35 C, 95 F) in the space of a few days, and there is no air conditioning, we had to be a little careful to regulate the temperature. Luckily, the hall way remains cool throughout the year, due to access to the cellar, and we used this feature to keep the apartment cool.
A washing machine is in the cellar.

Die Gastgeberin war bei allen Kontakten supernett und bei unserer Ankunftszeit auch sehr flexibel. Da wir mit dem Fahrrad angereist waren, konnten wir nicht genau sagen, wann wir ankommen, war aber kein Problem und gut organisiert.

House host is very nice and generous. She prepared "welcome gifts - fruits, snacks and chocolate...etc." She also sent us city guideline ahead of time before we arrived at Colgne. She is very trustworthy and I highly recommend everyone who is going to visit this lovely city and stay at her place.

Diane is a very nice landlady, who will make sure that her guests are comfortable. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by a basket full of chocolates. She had also stocked the fridge with milk, cheese, jam, and other essentials. Diane was very responsive to any problems that might arise: one of the light bulbs in the toilet gave out, which was fixed within a day. She washed the bed sheets on several occasions, and even came round to water the plants.
