You could tell that my hosts wanted their guests to feel welcome and comfortable. For someone like myself, who at the end of the day likes to get away from the hutle and bustle and return to safe and quiet surroundings it was really ideal. It's also very private and the guests do have their own little garden in the back of the house. It is a very diverse neighbourhood, which gives you a feel for what living in NYC is like and you do have real neighbours, not just tourists. A large supermarket as well as the subway are only a few blocks away and the hosts have compiled a little booklet, which informs you about some attractions nearby and gives directions to the nearest train station etc.
