Experience a Berkshire get-away in this huge secluded luxury modern house. It's the only house that is surrounded by 10,000 Acres of protected Hawley State forest. Escape from headaches and the rat race. No cell phone reception here! But we have WiFi and a house phone. We like to define our country home as a place to dream and relax. We care about your comfort and we think we are not only a place to sleep, but a real home for your lovely holidays.
The house is 2700 square feet, with 3 private bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (full bath [shower and tub] & a hot steam shower), a large living room with fireplace, and TV & DVD player. It has a one-car garage, central air-conditioning and wireless internet. The house also has a clothes washer and dryer, a smoker and BBQ grill, a screened in gazebo, 2 bicycles, a porch, Hallockville Pond just behind the house and 10,000 acres of marked trails to hike and explore.
Sleeping :
-2 king size beds, 1 double bed, a queen futon in the living room, an extra queen futon mattress, an inflatable queen mattress, and two couches.
Kitchen :
-Fully stocked kitchen, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer, coffee maker, electric stove and oven, and eat-in kitchen
-Smoker BBQ and grill (for use on the patio please)
-Everything you could possibly need for breakfast as well as a delightful dinner.

In the summer, the house is less than 1 mile from Plainfield Pond, with a kid-friendly sandy beach.
In the winter, the house includes cross country skis, snow shoes and wood for the fireplace. It also has an indoor parking so you won't need to brush and scrape! The house is 10 minutes to Berkshire East Ski Area and Notch View Reservation for cross country skiing. Southern Vermont ski areas such as Mt Snow and Sunapee are an hour's drive.
The house is ideally located close to Smith College and all of the shops, restaurants and cultural activities of Main Street, Northampton. Also in the area is Tanglewood in Lenox, Mass MoCA in North Adams, Clark Art Institute & Williams College in Williamstown and Jacobs Pillow in Becket.
Rental is for entire property, two-night minimum. All prices are shown in USD.
During major school vacation weeks, holidays and other high demand times (please ask for an offer). However we often prefer a minimum 1 weeks stay.
Available for short to medium term sublease. Please ask us about prices for stays of more than one month. Perhaps you'll bump into Rachel Maddow who has a house in town!

Perry and Jen were very kind, friendly , welcoming and cooperative from the beginning. And I really appreciated that their kindness continued after our stay what was due to the hurricane and the evacuation more complicatd than expected. Thank you!

Der Eigentümer ist anscheinend ein Amerikaner, der gar nicht in Berlin ist. Schade! Er hat uns aber am 2. Tag angerufen, und sich erkundigt, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Finde ich gut.
Kontakt wurde von einem Mann in Berlin aufgenommen und die Schlüssel wurden uns von einer seiner Kolleginen übergegeben. Sie hat uns auch in die Wohnung eingeführt und alles erklärt. Eine nette Frau, die sehr freundlich und flexibel (z.B. mit der Uhrzeit der Übergabe) war. An Sie besonders einen freundlichen Gruß. Gut fand ich auch die Möglichkeit, am Ende die Schlüssel einfach auf dem Tisch zu lassen und die Tür zuzumachen. Eine gute Idee, um die Wohnung nicht um eine bestimmte Uhrzeit verlassen zu müssen...
