The Farmhouse Accomodation is a completely restored 60 sqm "Fienile" barnhouse. It is situated in the heart of the Chianti region in a dominant position on the Pieve di S. Stefano at Campoli (Ninth Century), and offers our guests a wonderful panoramic view. The farmhouse consists in four large, bright rooms: kitchen, double bedroom, living room with double bed sofa, and two bathrooms. The property is indipendent, giving the opportunity to enjoy wide spaces around the house. At about 20 km from Florence and 40 km from Siena, the farmhouse’s position is perfect to reach the most beautiful, cultural and gastronomic sites in the Tuscany region: San Gimignano, Volterra, Greve, Panzano and Montefioralle. Turists can join these places by car as well as by foot or bicycle, crossing woods, olive groves, vineyards, beautiful and characteristic places rich in history and culture.
Already the Etruscans settled in the territory around San Casciano, as archaeological excavations at Montefiridolfi (Tomb of Arciere) and Valigondoli (the site at Poggio La Croce) brought to light. In the Roman era there was an important post station, ten miles from Florence. The Chianti region is characteristic for fortified mediaeval castles, abbeys, churches and convents, most of them built during the 11th. Century: Church of Saint Stefano of Campoli, Church of Saint Pancrazio, Church of Saint Cecilia, Church of San Leonino and the museum of the sacred arts (San Casciano V.P. Impruneta). Last but not least, there are several cellars in the area, where the best wines of the Chianti (and others) as well as the most traditional dishes of the Tuscan kitchen can be tasted.
Outdoor activities: there are numerous tracks and trails for hiking and mountain biking, leading to some of the most beautiful villages in the Chianti. Only a few kilometers distant, in San Casciano Val di Pesa, there is a large swimming pool with panoramic view. It is open all day. Horse riding is available in Mercatale Val di Pesa, where expert help is at hand to plan and arrange pleasant treks throughout the Chianti region. At Tavarnelle Val di Pesa you can realize your dreams, making a trip in a Hot Air Balloon, enjoying high above the beautiful hills and landscape of Tuscany.
