BRICK LANE
A microcosm of London's shifting ethnic patterns, the area around Brick Lane in East London was once associated with poor slums and the scene of the crime for the Jack the Ripper murders. Whilst the notorious pub Ten Bells still stands, the area itself is now extremely popular with London’s edgy and artistic crowd, featuring galleries, restaurants, markets and festivals throughout the year.
The Old Truman Brewery at 91 Brick Lane houses a vibrant market where up-and-coming designers set up shop every Sunday selling a unique variety of clothes, handbags and jewellery. There are also vintage clothing stores and chic boutiques dotted around the area.
As a hub of London's Bangladeshi community, Brick Lane has always been famed for its many authentic curry restaurants. It now also has a reputation for its warehouse art exhibitions and trendy clubs and bars. So, before your East London experience is complete, be sure to head to the Vibe Bars beer garden or 93 Feet East (150 Brick Lane) which has become an East End institution well known for its eclectic mix of live music and intimate atmosphere.
A really vibrant area with so much to do when you are not busy out there shopping.

Xiaxi 4.0 stars 02/28/2013the room is nice, clean and huge. the flat covers basically everything needed for normal life. especially the kitchen is ready to use. there is public transportation just infront of the house. tesco is just opposide of the street.. the only edge is that the windows are not wellbuilt therefore could be quite loud for sensitive sleepers:-)
since we were too tired from travel it was not a problem for us -

Die Wohnung hat mir sehr gut gefallen vor allen Dingen die Lage zur City von London und die Verkehrsanbindung mit den kurzen laufwegen ! Wenn ich wieder mal in London bin nehme ich mir wieder eine Wohnung von Mister X !!!

Aufgrund eines Buchungsfehlers ist diese Bewertung eigentlich für ME3. Die Zimmer sind jedoch im selben Haus und sehr ähnlich.
Pro:
- Zimmer war sauber
- Sehr gute Bus und Tube Anbindung
- Gastgeber hat Buchungsfehler seinerseits zugeben und einer Teilrückerstattung zugestimmt
- Tesco Express in unmittelbarer NäheContra:
- Bad und Küche waren nicht sehr einladend (Sauberkeit lies sehr zu wünschen übrig)
- Duschbrause kann nicht aufgehängt werden
- WG leben
- Türen sind dünn, Schlösser bieten kaum Sicherheit
- Knarrende Türen und Böden
- Heizung lässt sich nur zentral regeln
- Internet funktionierte nach 2 Tagen nicht mehr
- Rückerstattung verzögerte sich, Kontaktaufnahme gestaltete sich im Laufe des Urlaubs als schwierigFazit: Als Unterkunft im WG-Stil ausreichend, aber als Partnerurlaub ungeeignet.
