In Brief: TWO DOUBLE BEDS IN ONE ROOM, or ONE DOUBLE BED and a FUTON SOFA!! - this rate is sweet!
$120 plus tax $5 = $125 per night for two people, all included.
One person or two people same rate. Good for couples or two individual people. Huge room. Two large windows, closet, iron and ironing board in room, TV, two large mirrors, wooden floorboards, clean. Lovely room. Use of hairdryer in bathroom. Free wifi. No cleaning fees. ELEVATOR building - great when you've luggage!
This is a two bedroom apartment; bedrooms are *30 feet apart* - lots of privacy. The room has a double bed and a futon, will have one or two individual people OR a couple (this rate is for two people only; more than two people pay extra).
Price is the same for one or two people per night and is $125 per night. This is a sweet deal for amenities, location, size, price and cleanliness. No other extra fees. There is a min 7 nights preferred, though it's flexible. Includes all bills, cleaning after you leave, clean linens and towels. Your own keys.
The Room:
Bright (two large double-glazed windows - up 5 floors, lots of light), a double-sized bed, a separate double-sized futon, TV, wifi, desk and chair, side table, A/C and adjustable GF heating, built-in closet. Clean linens and towels included. Iron and ironing board in the room. Use of hairdryer in the bathroom.
The Apt:
There is intercom for the front door, a full bath and shower, a dining kitchen with a large double American fridge and a sweet, chilled and clean Persian cat.
I care that you have a great stay here and as well as the usual towels, linens, iron and hairdryer provided, I also have extra supplies of toiletries in case you've forgotten something, New York subway and street maps, and tourist books on the city left in your room for you to use while you're here. There are extra blankets in the closet and a whole drawer full of large and small brightly colored towels for you to choose from. All my towels are white, so there'll be no mix-ups in the bathroom. My folks back home run a Guesthouse, so I know how to make your room feel like home and I want you to be happy here, so any requests, just ask.
Location:
This is the BEST location in New York, bar none. If you don't know Manhattan, don't believe the hype; mid-town is the worst. East Village/Lower East Side is the BEST location for bars, free live music, funky boutiques, cheap but amazing restaurants. West Village is pricey; East Village/LES is what the West Village used to be before it got too expensive, making the East Village/LES the bohemian arty hang-out in the city.
This apartment is exactly in the middle of everything; where the East Village meets the Lower East Side at Orchard and Houston streets and 5 blocks from Soho.
One block from the F and M trains (Lower East Side/2nd Ave - at the 1st Ave exit), this apartment is in the center of everything. Brilliant nightlife, live music (Living Room, Rockwood Music Hall, The National Underground all 2 mins walk or less), bars (too many to name - but the Sixth Ward downstairs has the largest beer garden for 15 blocks and has a happy hour Mon - Wed ALL NIGHT drinks for $3 - til 4am!!), inexpensive but fantastic restaurants (one Himalayan, one Mexican, one Thai, two French all within 1 min walk), great walks (5 long blocks from the East River) and right on top of the subway (F train runs right up the center of Manhattan); this location doesn't get any better.
VERY SAFE at night. Yet, even though you're in the center of everything, the room is very quiet because you've got double-glazing and you're 5 floors up. Don't worry, there's an elevator (unusual for round here).
Me:
I let out my spare room year round, and I've sublet my own room each time I go away (maybe 3 times a year) and everyone who's stayed here has enjoyed the place. This will be the same with you I'm sure. I'm pretty flexible and keen to make your stay here as happy as possible, so any requests, just ask. I can supply references from previous guests on request. More info about me is here: suzanne connolly . net I rely on references and recommendations, so any comments on my page here very welcome after you depart.
If you're not in the country, I'm happy to have a friend of yours or whomever, to come by and take a look. First come, first served.
If this all sounds good to you, get in touch.
Cheers,
Suzanne

Elliott 5.0 stars 11/19/2012This cute apartment is very clean and comfortable. It really gives off the home feel as soon as you walk in. It is a great use of space for a smaller apartment, with all the facilities you would need, as well as an extremely comfortable bed. The location is great, basically situated right in the middle of several bars, restaurants and loads of cheap shops. Although everything is on your doorstep the subway is only a 5 minute walk, to explore the rest of Manhattan. ///This review was written by an official

Karsten 5.0 stars 04/04/2012This is an incredibly central place right in the middle of the lower east side. Party, drinks and food literally right at your doorstep. But still quiet room and very safe neighborhood (we traveled with a small baby). Perfect to explore all major sightseeing spots in Manhattan as well as Brooklyn and to enjoy the direct neighborhood of the LES. Room is clean, as is bathroom and kitchen. All relatively small but in good condition. Wireless works fine in kitchen, though often poor reception in room. Suzanne has a cat which is very friendly and chilled out.
