My apartment is on the 3rd Floor of a four-story private townhouse, built in 1901 as a typical "BROWNSTONE" townhouse, with typical fire escape and wonderfully bright and sunny - a perfect room with a view ... in the heart of Manhattan's East Village - there's hardly a better neighborhood in New York for shopping, restaurants, bars, clubs - anywhere , around the clock, 24/7! And still SUPER QUIET, a true bedroom not to say rescue place for sensitive European ears :-) --- The apt comes with fully equipped kitchen (with washer / dryer, dishwasher, stove / microwave, etc.); large modern bathroom with bathtube and shower; living room with dining section (seating for up to 8 persons for dining / you might also use this table as a large desk/work place; and a big couch and bar is waiting for tired New York visitors to have a break :-) --- There is high speed internet all over the apt. + a wireless WiFi network laser printer/copier/scanner. And we all love our cleaning lady! --- Overall, we have max. 4 people in our 3-bedroom/100 square meter apt - if you move in as a couple whilst the other two bedrooms are for me as the owner of the apartment and for a young woman (she's a business consultant, single living like me and super nice and travels a lot all over the world as I do as a TV reporter "on and off NYC"). --- ASTOR PLACE SUBWAY is just 3 minutes walking distance with TRAINS RUNNING EAST UP + DOWN AND CROSS TOWN to the WEST! - Quick and easy: 30 min to NYC's JFK or La Guardia airport by cab! - And NYU university is in the NEIGHBORHOOD.

Achim 5.0 stars 05/16/2013From as much as I know NYC, the East Village is one of the best places you can stay. You are right in the middle of the city with several good - but affordable - restaurants and shops very nearby to the appartment. Yet, the room is exremely quiet. I slept like in heaven. Public transportation also is a clear advantage. After a five minutes walk you enter Astor Place, where the subway (trains are leaving every five minutes) brings you very fast uptown to a.o. the museums area, and of course further downtown, to financial district and other locations. I don't think there is a better place you can stay in NYC.

Udo 5.0 stars 05/07/2013Hervorragend gelegenes Apartment mit sympathischen Gastgeber, der mit Tipps und Infos helfen kann, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein. Sehr entspannt. Das richtige Domizil, um selbst in Manhattan ein ruhiges Plätzchen zu finden und trotzdem mitten zwischen angesagten aber preiswerten Bars und Restaurants zu sein.

Der Gastgeber war äußerst zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit.die Wohnung war von Lage und Ausstattung Top!ich würde sofort wieder dorthin fahren!

Jürgen was the perfect host! Alway friendly, always supportive, simply gorgeous! I had a fantastic time with him, he knows the city very well, provided a lot of important information (e.g. where to buy clothes, where to enjoy good food, where to find fancy bars, what to vist, and what to avoid). He cared very much and I enjoyed the great talks I had with him and Chistine. When I return to NYC, I will definetly try to again stay with him in his wonderul appartment in the East Village.
