About Trastevere:
Our Trastevere’s neighborhood is known as the most typical of the city.
During the day, in its narrow streets you sense the atmosphere of the ‘800 quiet life, thanks to the preservation of its historical sites and of the ancient craft shops.
The cobbled streets are mostly car-free, the restauratnts and cafes serve up some of the cheapest eats you’ll find in Rome and it’s good too, the square in front of Santa Maria in Trastevere church is very charming.
During the evening Trastevere becomes the heart of the Roman nightlife and it’s very easy to lose yourself between several pubs, disco bar or pizzerias.
Trastevere Borgo was very important since the age of the Roman Emperor Augustus, he wanted to extend the Rome’s boundaries to this “Regio Transtiberina”, before that time it was occupied by the Etruscans.
It becames the seat of important Roman villas of which have been found some ruins.
In the Middle Age, Trastevere was a labyrinth of winding narrow streets, the contrast between rich houses and small houses of poorest people was very strong.
Due to the partial isolation (Trastevere was beyond the Tiber) and multicultural environment since the time of the ancient Rome, its people were up like a separate population: “trasteverini”, commoners known by their tenacity, pride and genuineness, their women were considered very beautiful, with good features and very dark eyes and hairs.
After 1870 the big walls were built to contain the Tiber floods, this certainly has brought to an increased safety at the expense of all places most characteristic that were on the shore which were destroyed.

Isabelle 5.0 stars 06/06/2013Hallo Ada, Hallo Nicco,
A wonderful flat in a wonderful address. In the middle of Trastevere, bars and restaurants within easy reached in just a few steps, but its still quiet. The flat is lovely done up, very clean, with furnishings and fittings. If we`ll travel to rom again, we`ll come back to you!

Graham 5.0 stars 03/19/2012Absolutely fantastic! A delightful apartment, exactly as described. Lots of authentic touches, but still homely and comfortable.
In a great location - travernas, supermarkets, bakeries and market all within a few minutes walk. Trastevere is a great district - enough locals to make it feel authentic, but enough tourists to ensure there's plenty to do. Also really close to the tram stop, which means all the city and the airport are within easy reach.Definitely recommended!

Isabelle 5.0 stars 06/06/2013Hallo Ada, Hallo Nicco,
Very faithful and nice people. We were very late and they were still waiting for us very friendly. They explained us the flat and the environment as they had all the time in the world.
Also the informations and the contact before was super. We had a really good time!
